Sherwanis & Ethnic Wear

Bespoke sherwanis, Bandhgalas and achkans tailored to your frame

The sherwani is the most ceremonial garment an Indian man wears — and the least forgiving of an imprecise shoulder or collar. At Bespoke Zero in Bengaluru, our sherwani tailoring applies the same pattern-drafting discipline as our bespoke suits: a clean Mandarin collar, sculpted chest, balanced flare and sleeves that end exactly at the wrist bone.

What we make

The commission, in detail

Alongside wedding sherwanis, our Commercial Street house tailors bespoke Bandhgala jackets (Jodhpuri suits), achkans, Nehru jackets and silk kurta sets for weddings, engagements, receptions and festive occasions across Karnataka.

Bespoke wedding sherwanis

From understated raw-silk silhouettes to hand-embroidered ceremonial sherwanis, drafted and fitted to your posture.

Bandhgala tailoring (Jodhpuri)

Structured, sharp-collared Bandhgala jackets and Jodhpuri suits — regal formality for receptions, cocktails and formal dinners.

Achkans & ceremonial coats

Long-line tailored achkans in lighter silks, brocades and fine wool blends with custom metal or fabric-covered buttons.

Nehru jackets & waistcoats

Bespoke Bandi and Nehru jackets cut to sit flush at the neck and waist over tailored kurtas or formal shirts.

Kurta, churidar & trouser sets

Custom silk and cotton kurtas paired with churidars, pyjamas or tailored formal trousers for mehendi, sangeet and pujas.

Coordinated dupattas & stoles

Hand-selected stoles, dupattas and pocket squares finished to complement your sherwani or Bandhgala.

Cloth & craft

Silk, brocade and the discipline of Bandhgala and sherwani fit

Every Bespoke Zero commission is cut by S.I. Makers on Commercial Street, Bengaluru — measured to you, fitted on you, finished by hand.

A sherwani or achkan is layered over an inner kurta and paired with a churidar or tailored trouser. We draft and fit the entire ensemble together so the collar stand, shoulder seam and hemline fall in clean proportion without bunching.

Our cloth guidance is practical as well as aesthetic: raw silks, matka silks, fine worsteds and breathable weaves keep you comfortable through long Bengaluru ceremonies, while rich jacquards and brocades bring weight to evening receptions.

Every Bandhgala and sherwani collar is shaped specifically to your neck height and slope — ensuring formal composure without stiffness.

The process

How your garment comes to be

The same quiet discipline behind every commission — at our Commercial Street outlet, or at your home or office across Bengaluru.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We begin with a conversation — your occasion, your style, and how you want the garment to feel. Unhurried, at our Commercial Street outlet, your home, or your office.

  2. 02

    Measurement & pattern

Your tailor takes a full set of measurements and posture notes, and a personal paper pattern is drafted to your body — not adjusted from a standard block.

  3. 03

    Cloth & design

Choose from fabric books across worsted wool, silk, linen and blends, then set the details: lapel, buttons, lining, pleats and embroidery.

  4. 04

    Fittings

Your garment is assembled for a fitting and refined through adjustments until the line and drape are right — checked collar to hem.

  5. 05

    Finishing

Hand-finished details, a final pressing and inspection, then collection at the outlet or delivery to your address in Bengaluru.

Pricing, honestly

Quoted individually after consultation

Bespoke sherwanis, Bandhgalas and ethnic ensembles are quoted individually after your consultation, reflecting the silk, wool or embroidery work you select.

Every commission is quoted transparently in writing before cutting begins — nothing is standardized and nothing is added without your approval.

Family and groomsmen ethnic-wear commissions can be planned together during an outlet or home consultation.

Final quotations are always confirmed in writing before cutting begins

Questions

Sherwanis & Bandhgalas — your questions, answered

Can't find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp — a real person from our Bengaluru workshop replies.

How much does bespoke sherwani or Bandhgala tailoring cost in Bengaluru?
Because fabrics and embroidery work vary widely between a classic Bandhgala and a ceremonial wedding sherwani, every garment is quoted individually after your consultation. Your final price is confirmed in writing before cutting begins.
What is the difference between a sherwani, an achkan and a Bandhgala?
A sherwani is a structured knee-length ceremonial coat worn over a kurta and churidar; an achkan is a lighter, closely fitted ceremonial coat of similar length; and a Bandhgala (Jodhpuri) is a hip-length tailored jacket with a high Mandarin collar worn with formal trousers.
How many fittings does a bespoke sherwani require?
Because a sherwani is worn over inner layers, fittings are essential. Expect an initial measurement consultation, a trial fitting of the complete layered outfit, and a final check before collection.
Can you coordinate ethnic wear for the groom's family?
Yes. We regularly design and tailor coordinated Bandhgalas, sherwanis, Nehru jackets and kurta sets for fathers, brothers and groomsmen.
Which fabrics are best for a Bengaluru wedding ceremony?
Raw silk, tussar silk, fine wool-silk blends and breathable jacquards hold their structure admirably while keeping you comfortable in Bengaluru's climate.
Can I book a home visit for sherwani measurements?
Yes. You can visit our Commercial Street outlet or request a home appointment anywhere in Bengaluru for yourself and your family.
